Some of the entries from the Autumn Show 2017

We hope you have all had a lovely summer, enjoying your gardens, or perhaps visiting other gardens of inspiration!

At the time of writing, the annual Autumn Show is almost upon us, so here’s a quick reminder that it will take place in the Village Hall on Saturday, 8th September. We realise there is another major event happening in the village on the same day, however we understand that the associated road closures shouldn’t impact on the running of the Show.

So no excuses: we would love to see as many of you entering as possible – check the Schedule for the classes, but please ensure you arrive early in the morning (between 07.30am and 09.30am) to set everything up. Most of the Committee and volunteers will be available to help you, if you need it.

Children can take part in the Show, too, and every children’s entry wins a prize. All you need to do is bring them and their entry along to the Village Hall on the morning of the Show. A final reminder that the Photographic Class is on the theme of ‘Smiles’. Photo size 7”x 5” and not framed or mounted in any way. For more details, download the Schedule and entry form from HERE.

Looking even further forward to our October meeting, scheduled to take place at 19.30pm in the Village Hall on Monday 8th October 8th. We will also be welcoming Richard and Leigh Wood who will be giving us some handy hints for growing “Bulbs all the year round”. We’re sure that many of you will enjoy this presentation. Both Members and non-members are welcome to come and listen (£2 fee for non-members payable at the door) and, as usual, refreshments will be served afterwards.

The Crafty Chatters

A new craft group has been set up in Lowdham, meeting every Friday, 1.00pm till 4.30pm in the W.I. Hall, Lowdham.
Sessions cost £3 which includes tea/coffee and biscuits/cake. We would like crafters from all disciplines to come along and enjoy an afternoon chatting and crafting.
For those who sew we’ll have a sewing machine or two and an ironing board, knitters bring your needles and crocheters bring your hooks, colourers bring a pencil sharpener and ruggers bring your frames.
It will be a great opportunity to share knowledge and pick up tips, plus you might get inspiration to try a new craft! Open to all ages and all crafters. Phone Jane Waite 07985293351 or 01159 664907 if you have any questions.
