Woodborough 2003/2004
The Video

Readers with long memories will remember that 14 years ago your editor made a film, in conjunction with Paul Reed, to record the happenings in Woodborough for the archives.

If you didn’t get a DVD copy back then (or a VHS – remember those?), you can now see the whole thing on YouTube by clicking HERE

Over the past 14/15 years many changes have happened, some of the faces are no longer with us, and the children that appear are now grown. We’d like to hear what you think about this glimpse into the past – why not drop us a line at woodboroughweb@gmail.com.

To whet your appetite, here are a few stills from the video.

Woodborough Ladies

We enjoyed a happy day out at Trentham Gardens for our meeting in August. The weather was lovely so we were able to wander round the little shops, the beautiful gardens or walk round the lake including, of course, the necessary stops for refreshments.

On September 6th in the Institute 8.00pm, our speaker will be Simon Gledhill talking about work in the community at Broxtowe, including the valuable work of a food bank at St Martha’s Church.

If any members would like to bring contributions to our meeting the following items are especially needed; tinned meat (chicken curry, meat balls, hot dogs, meat pies etc) UHT milk, squash, tinned vegetables ( not beans or potatoes—they have a good supply of those) cereals, tea, coffee, No fresh food, please.

If any village residents would like to make a contribution, please leave them behind the font in St Swithun’s Church, from where they will be taken to St Martha’s Church and very gratefully received. Thank you.
